You are about to embark upon a journey that’s all about you. It begins with embracing God’s transforming love. As you start this journey of loving yourself; love others as well as you love yourself, genuinely. And it is nothing wrong with you loving yourself; as long as it’s positive selfishness, just know who you are. Beloved, understand that love exists within and from loving yourself unconditionally, this is self-love. The barrier of self-love can lead you into a cocoon of isolation and withdrawal from others. It’s time to come out of your cocoon identify your imperfections. By starting with a fresh attitude – a new self-talk and doing away with the old self-talk will lead to the transformation of a new self-image. Begin to denounce self-doubt and negative talk and let your positive attitude be your driving force to motivate you into action. There is a blessing in being renewed, Paul tells us in Colossians 3:10 “And put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.”
Be involved with people that will encourage and inspire you. Discover the hidden you and eliminate the negative self-talk that you may not be aware of that feeds your mind and convince you that you’re not good enough, not smart enough, and not pretty enough. Cancel every bad thought with a good thought, readjust your thinking and renew your mind with the word of God and prayer. You are a unique creation of God, learn to love yourself. Take control of your thoughts and pray this prayer:
Please untie the knots
that are in my mind,
my heart and my life.
Remove the have nots,
the can nots and the do nots
that I have in my mind.
Erase the will nots,
might nots that may find
a home in my heart.
Release me from the could nots,
would nots and
should nots that obstruct my life.
And most of all,
I ask that you remove from my mind,
my heart and my life all of the ‘am nots’
that I have allowed to hold me back,
especially the thought
that I am not good enough.
