Let’s talk about negativity! Negativity is lack of enthusiasm, disapproval, intolerant and is not constructive. Have you been in the vicinity of people who are always negative about things? Negative People! Negative toxic people will sap your energy; they will make you feel like you been run over by a vacuum cleaner. Don’t let negative people bring you down or cause you to deviate. Negativity can be disapproving to a person’s spirit. What do you do with the negativity when it attacks you? You don’t entertain negativity or negative people. Change your circle! Negativity breeds negativity; Positivity breeds positivity. You can’t control what other people say about you, but you can control how you let it have an affect on you.
This Traditional Native American Indian story illustrates the point about negativity:
One evening, an elderly Cherokee brave told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. A fight is going on inside me dear one. “Its a terrible fight and its between two wolves. One is evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. He continued, “the other is good. It is: joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”
The grandson thought about it for a moment and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee replied, “The one you feed.”
Don’t let the negatives dominate your thoughts. And how you do that. Choose to ignore it: Hit the Reject Button and move on! One way to reject negativity when it comes up is to press your internal pause button to deflect your attention from negative thoughts. Let the power of your positive thoughts outweigh the power of others negative words. Accentuate the positive. There will always be people who will be critical, and have something negative to say about you, or just downright negative. “Hurt people hurt people.” Remember those who are at war with others are not at peace with themselves. Keep a safe distance from negative people and situations if at all possible. Please don’t let others infect you with their negativity or allow yourself to be critical or negative toward others because of your mistreatment. Be polite! Strive to give positive feedback and if you don’t have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Surround yourself with positive, uplifting people who will help you embrace the positive side of life. Be Positive!!!
